Kennecott Copper Mine

On Monday (July 23rd) morning we went to Kennecott Copper Mine. It is one of the few man made things that can be seen from space. It was very interesting to learn about. We watched a movie about what they do and then we got to go look out and see the big trucks at work. We also enjoyed all of the displays they had inside.
This is one of the wheels on the haulage dump truck that they use. Each wheel is 12 feet 6 inches and cost $25,000. Also it said that the wheels only last about 1 year. Wow!!! It is quite the operation.
Annie, Cameron, and Eric on an old machine that they had displayed outside.

The kids loved seeing all of the trucks and trains at the indoor display.
