We love living in New York, but we miss being close to family. So we have really come to love anytime we get visitors. My mom and little sister Joelle came to visit just over a week ago. We had been counting down the months, weeks, and then the days. We picked them up in Buffalo and then drove to Kirtland where we spent Sunday. Our kids were really excited to get to stay in a hotel. Cameron and Annie both asked, "What is a hotel?" Which made me realize they really haven't stayed in hotels except a couple of times when they were little.
We loved visiting Kirtland. The weather was perfect for the middle of March. We saw the John Johnson farm, Kirtland Temple, and the Kirtland Historic Sites, which has a visitors center and you get to see the Newel K. Whitney home and store. So many things happened with the church in Kirtland and it was nice to be reminded of those things.

How fun to have your mom and sister there.....how far away are you from Kirtland? I didn't realize a trip to you would encompass Kirtland, too!
